Activity Sets

This year’s curriculum features interest-based Activity Sets through which girls can learn the core concepts of computer programming. We offer many avenues to learn these same concepts. The goal is to learn what you are interested in at your own pace.

Thunkable

Have fun with Thunkable

  1. Download iOS or Android “Thunkable” App from App Store
  2. Visit http://Thunkable.com
  3. Click “Get Started”
  4. Log in with your gmail (if you don’t have a gmail get one for free at gmail.com)
  5. Compete all 5 Thunkable tutorials on left of screen.
  6. Test your Thunkable apps by:
    1. Clicking on the “Live Test” link in Thunkable
    2. Open Thunkable app on your phone or tablet & log in with same gmail account used at Thunkable.com.
    3. You should now see app running on your phone.
    4. As you make changes in Thunkable the app will be magically update on your phone or tablet running Thunkable! Cool, right?
  7. Visit https://docs.thunkable.com/thunkable-cross-platform/get-started/sample-apps
  8. Click the “Click to Remix” Beaver Bingo
  9. Once Beaver Bingo loads in your Thunkable interface click “Live Test” to test on your phone or tablet (see step 4 above).
  10. Remix others that looks interesting to you. Make some minor changes in the remix make the app your own!

App testing alternative:
Appetize.io is a great way to share prototype of app during development! There are some limitations.


  1. Click Download > Download Android App from Thunkable
  2. Thunkable will download an .apk file to your computer “Download” folder. This file is the executable file to run in Android phones.
  3. Visit http://appetize.io
  4. Click “Upload”
  5. Click “Select File” under Step 1, select the file downloaded ending in the .apk file extension
  6. Type your email under Step 2
  7. Click “Generate” under Step 2
  8. When you get email from Appetize.io click on link provided in email then click the “Play” button
  9. Limitations of Appetize.io
    1. Can’t use camera
    2. Can’t record audio
    3. Can’t play audio
